Fabric selection

Every Fabric We Run for American Football

Not a highlight reel — this is the full working list, including the trims and secondary materials that decide whether a kit survives a season. Weights are the ranges we actually run; the exact specification is fixed at sampling.

Only polyester can be sublimated — and it must start white

Dye sublimation bonds ink into polyester fibres, so it cannot be used on cotton, on nylon, or on fabric that has already been dyed dark. If your design needs all-over colour, stripes, hoops or gradients, it has to be built on one of the sublimation-ready knits below. Everything else is decorated by embroidery, transfer or screen print instead. Fabrics are tagged accordingly.

Game jersey — the heaviest we run

4 options

A football jersey is worn over a rigid pad and must grip it. That needs 260–300 gsm four-way stretch — roughly double a football shirt — or it balloons and becomes something to grab.

Sizing Charts

Garment measurements, taken flat, in centimetres. If you are ordering for a squad you have not measured, request a size set first — it costs far less than re-running a production batch.

How to measure

Measure a garment the squad already wears and compare it to the tables above — it is far more reliable than measuring bodies.

A
ChestMeasure flat, 2.5 cm below the armhole, seam to seam. Double it for the full circumference.
B
Body lengthFrom the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.

NFHS / NCAA uniform rules

American Football Kit Rules We Build To

Football uniform rules exist mostly for safety and for identifying players, and officials do check them pre-game. These are the ones that determine how a jersey is built.

The jersey must cover the shoulder pads
A jersey must completely cover the shoulder pads and the back pad. This is why the fit is cut over the pad rather than the body, and why an under-sized jersey is a penalty rather than a style choice.
Number size is specified
Associations set minimum numeral heights — commonly around 8 inches on the front and 10 inches on the back — with a required contrast against the jersey. On a panelled design that usually needs a solid backing area.
No tear-away jerseys or slippery finishes
Jerseys must not be designed to tear away, and slick or greasy surface finishes are prohibited. Anything that helps a ball carrier escape a tackle by material trickery is out.
Jerseys must be tucked
The jersey has to be tucked in and remain so. We cut the body deliberately short for this — a longer jersey pulls out and becomes an equipment violation mid-drive.
Mandatory pads
Hip, thigh, knee and tailbone pads are required at most levels. Integrated pants with sewn-in pockets are the reliable answer, because pads that are separate are pads that get left at home.

Rules change and competitions add their own. Send your competition handbook with the brief and we will lay the artwork out inside its limits — a routine part of our design step, not an extra.

Custom american football manufacturing, in detail

Addahar Enterprises manufactures complete custom American football uniforms for schools, colleges, clubs and distributors. This is the most demanding fit problem in teamwear: the jersey is not worn on the body, it is worn over a rigid shoulder pad, and it has to grip that pad tightly enough that an opponent cannot grab a handful of loose fabric.

That means a heavy four-way stretch mesh at 260–300 gsm through the shoulder and body — considerably heavier than any other code we supply — with a body cut deliberately short so the jersey tucks and stays tucked. A standard jersey pattern one size up does not work; it balloons over the pad and becomes a handle.

Pants are the other half. Integrated pants with sewn-in pockets for hip, thigh, knee and tailbone pads are now standard at most levels, and they remove the perennial problem of players arriving with pads missing. We build both integrated and traditional slotted pants.

OEM, ODM & Private Label

How we work with you depends on how much of the design you already own. All four routes run through the same factory and the same quality process.

Who We Make For

The garments are the same. The paperwork, pricing and process differ — pick the route that matches how you buy.

American Football Manufacturing FAQs

The questions we are asked most often, answered straight.

Why do your jerseys look small on the size chart?

Because they are measured flat and unstretched, and they are cut to be worn over a rigid shoulder pad rather than on the body. The fabric is a heavy four-way stretch that opens up over the pad. Order to the pad size, not the player’s chest measurement.

What is the minimum order for custom football uniforms?

Sublimated game jerseys start at 20 pieces per design and the run can be all different sizes. Integrated pants carry a slightly higher minimum because of the additional pocket construction.

Integrated or slotted pants?

Integrated pants have the pad pockets sewn in, which solves the perennial problem of players arriving without pads. Slotted pants suit programmes that already own pads and want to keep using them. We make both.

Will the jersey grip the pads properly?

That is what the 260–300 gsm four-way stretch is for — roughly double the weight of a soccer shirt. A lighter fabric balloons over the pad and gives opponents a handful of loose jersey to grab.

Will the numbers meet association specification?

Yes, by default — broadly 8 inches front and 10 inches back with clear contrast. If your state association or conference specifies different heights, tell us at brief stage.

Can you kit out a full varsity and JV programme?

Yes, and most orders are exactly that. Varsity, JV and freshman squads can share one design in different colourways, all against one approved colour standard and one delivery.

Can you match our existing programme colours?

Yes. Send Pantone references or a physical jersey and we match to it, then record the recipe so next season’s order does not come back a shade off.

Do you supply youth sizes?

Yes, on an age-band block, cut to fit over youth pads rather than simply scaled down from adult patterns.

Can you produce under our own brand label?

Yes. Under private label we apply your woven neck label, hem tab and care label and pack to your specification, with no Addahar branding on the garment.

How long does a football uniform order take?

Samples in 7–10 working days from artwork approval, bulk in 15–20 working days after sign-off, and repeat orders from an existing pattern in 10–14 working days.
