OEM — You Design It, We Build It

You arrive with a tech pack and a design that is already yours. We manufacture it to specification and nothing about the product becomes ours.

What OEM actually means

OEM — original equipment manufacturing — means you supply the design and we supply the making. Your tech pack specifies the garment; our job is to reproduce it accurately, at volume, to the tolerances you set.

It is the model established brands use, because it keeps the product entirely theirs. We are a supplier, not a partner in the design. If you already employ designers, own your patterns, or have a range you have refined over several seasons, this is the route that protects that investment.

The practical consequence is that OEM demands more of you up front and less of you afterwards. A complete tech pack means fewer questions, fewer sampling rounds and a faster path to bulk. An incomplete one means we will come back with questions — which is better than guessing, but slower. If you do not have a tech pack, ODM is the model you want instead.

Is This You?

Four situations this model fits. If none of them sound like you, one of the others probably does.

  • You have a tech pack

Measurements, construction, bill of materials and artwork are already documented. We build from it directly.

  • You are moving factories

You have an existing product and want it made somewhere better, cheaper or more reliably. Send the garment and the spec.

  • You own your patterns

Your fit is part of your brand and you want it reproduced exactly, not reinterpreted.

  • You need capacity, not creativity

Your design team is fine. What you need is a line that can hold a standard across a season.

Who Supplies What

The clearest way to tell whether this model is yours. If the left column looks like things you do not have, look at ODM instead.

You supply

  • Tech pack — measurements, construction notes, bill of materials
  • Graded size specification, or the base size for us to grade
  • Artwork in vector format for all decoration
  • Fabric specification, or approval of our recommendation
  • Labels, trims and packaging specification
  • Tolerances and any QC standard you work to

We supply

  • Pattern digitising and grading from your spec
  • Fabric sourcing to your specification
  • Sampling — fit sample through to pre-production
  • Full cut-and-sew production across 50 machines
  • All decoration in-house — sublimation, embroidery, DTF, DTG, screen
  • Inspection against your tolerances, packing and dispatch

How It Works

  1. 1

    Tech pack review

We read it properly and come back with anything ambiguous before quoting, rather than discovering it at sampling.

  2. 2

    Quotation

Priced against your actual specification — fabric, construction, decoration and quantity — not a generic rate.

  3. 3

    Fit sample

Made to your measurements so you can check the pattern reads correctly before colour and decoration are involved.

  4. 4

    Pre-production sample

The real garment in the real fabric with real decoration. This becomes the standard everything else is measured against.

  5. 5

    Bulk production

Full run in 15–20 working days, inspected in-line and against your approved sample.

  6. 6

    Dispatch

Packed to your specification and shipped, with landed cost confirmed up front.

Choosing a model

OEM vs the alternatives

These four are constantly confused, and the confusion usually favours the supplier. Here is the plain version.

vs ODM
ODM is the same factory doing more of the work: we design, you brand. Choose OEM if the design is already yours and you want it protected; choose ODM if you have a brief rather than a specification.
vs Private label
Private label describes whose labels go in the garment, not who designed it. An OEM order is almost always also private label — the terms answer different questions and are not alternatives.
vs White label
White label means taking an existing product and putting your name on it. That is the opposite of OEM: fastest to market, but the product is not distinctive and anyone else can buy the same one.

OEM FAQs

Do you need a full tech pack?

For OEM, ideally yes — that is what defines the model. If you do not have one, we can develop it with you, but at that point you are really working under ODM, which is priced and paced differently. We will tell you which you are actually doing rather than let the terminology blur.

Who owns the pattern you develop from our spec?

Under OEM the design and specification are yours throughout. Pattern ownership and whether the digitised pattern can be released to you is set out in our terms — see the table above, and ask us directly if it matters to your plans, because it is a reasonable thing to want in writing.

Can you match a garment we currently produce elsewhere?

Yes. Send a physical sample with your spec and we will pattern from it and reproduce the fit. This is one of the most common reasons brands come to us — the product works, the current supply does not.

Will anything of yours appear on the garment?

No. No Addahar labels, no marks, no packaging branding. The garment carries your labels and nothing else.

What is your minimum for OEM?

20 pieces per design. For a brand testing a first run that is deliberately low — most OEM factories start considerably higher, which is what forces new brands into buying blanks.

How many sampling rounds are normal?

Usually two: a fit sample to check the pattern, then a pre-production sample in final fabric and decoration. A well-documented tech pack often needs only one. An ambiguous one can need three or four, which is why we read yours properly before quoting.

Can you handle multiple styles in one order?

Yes, and most OEM orders are exactly that. Each style carries its own minimum, but they share a production slot and one delivery.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. Send yours over before sharing the tech pack if you would rather have it in place first — it is a normal request and we do not treat it as a hurdle.

Think OEM is the right fit?

Tell us what you have — a tech pack, a sketch, or just an idea — and we will confirm which model actually suits it.
