What White Label actually means

White label means taking a design we already produce, applying your colours and labels, and manufacturing it. There is no design development, no new pattern and no fit work — which is exactly why it is the fastest and cheapest of the four models.

It suits a specific situation: you need product quickly, price matters more than distinctiveness, and you are not trying to build a range that nobody else can sell. Event kit, a first test order, a filler line, or a distributor topping up stock all fit that description well.

The trade-off is genuine and we would rather state it than let you discover it. The design is not exclusive. Another customer can order the same block in different colours, and you cannot stop them. If you are building a brand where the product itself is meant to be the differentiator, ODM is the model you actually want — it costs more and takes longer, and it produces something that is yours.

Is This You?

Four situations this model fits. If none of them sound like you, one of the others probably does.

  • You need it fast

No design or pattern development means the timeline is production plus shipping, nothing more.

  • Price is the deciding factor

No development cost, proven patterns and known fabric — this is the cheapest route we offer.

  • You are testing a market

Prove demand on a low-risk order before investing in a developed range.

  • You are a distributor topping up

Reliable, repeatable stock in your colours without a development cycle.

Who Supplies What

The clearest way to tell whether this model is yours. If the left column looks like things you do not have, look at ODM instead.

  • Choice of design from our existing range

Choosing a model

White Label vs the alternatives

These four are constantly confused, and the confusion usually favours the supplier. Here is the plain version.

vs ODM
ODM adapts a block to your brief, so the result is distinctive and effectively yours. White label does not adapt anything. If the product is meant to be your differentiator, pay for ODM — this is the honest recommendation even though white label is the easier sale.
vs OEM
Opposite ends of the same spectrum. OEM is your design, your patterns, maximum control, longest lead time. White label is our design, no control, shortest lead time.
vs Private label
The labelling outcome is identical — your labels in the garment. The difference is whether the garment underneath was built for you or taken off the shelf.

White Label FAQs

Will another brand sell the same garment?

Possibly, yes. That is the defining trade-off of white label and we would rather be straight about it. The block is not exclusive to you; the colourway and labels are. If exclusivity matters, ODM with an exclusivity agreement is the route.

Is white label the same as private label?

No. Both put your labels in the garment. White label uses an existing product unchanged; private label can involve a garment developed specifically for you. The terms get used interchangeably across the industry, which suits suppliers more than buyers.

How much faster is it really?

It removes design development and fit sampling from the timeline — typically two to four weeks. What remains is one approval sample plus production.

Can we change anything about the design?

Colours, labels and decoration, yes. Change the pattern, the fabric or the construction and you have moved into ODM — which is fine, but it is priced and paced differently and we will tell you when a request crosses that line.

Can we move to ODM or OEM later?

Yes, and it is a sensible progression: prove the market on white label, then invest in a developed range once you know it sells.

What is the minimum?

20 pieces per design, same as our other models.

Think White Label is the right fit?

Tell us what you have — a tech pack, a sketch, or just an idea — and we will confirm which model actually suits it.
